Winter in Utah might mean breathing the worst air in the nation, but at least January marks the end of holiday music and random greatest hits collections. This week delivers new material by Vampire Weekend, OK Go and Laura Veirs---, the latter of whom I'd never really gotten into until July Flame landed on my desk. Man, has she hit her stride! The 2010 Tucker Martine-produced album features contributions from an impressive set of guests including Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Karl Blau and several Portland indie-folk luminaries. Put July Flame in your stereo/iPod and pretend it's summer. This track should do the trick:
