Eve: Day 2 (A Brief) Review

Another lovely evening of activities. Hopefully more of you are making it downtown to ring in the new year.

Five Dumb Things About Ten Dumb Years

Cheers! The '00s are over at last.

Rush Limbaugh has a heart?

HEADLINE: Chest pains send Limbaugh to hospital.--- I don't wish ill of El Rushbo even though I think he is one of the biggest pantloads around.  It has been reported that while vacationing with family and friends in Honolulu he experienced chest pains and was taken by ambulance to the Queens Medical Center in serious condition. He is now resting comfortably and seemingly doing just fine. He has made a fortune bashing Democrats, Liberals, main stream media, Hollywood "types", gays, women's groups, the education system, Chelsey, Bill and Hillery Clinton, Valery Plame/Joe Wilson and one of the most agregious attacks I have ever seen was perpetrated on actor Michael J Fox for displaying the effects of the Parkinsons disease while testifying before a Congressional Committee.

Homo for the holidays

Troy Williams' observations about gay people at family reunions got me thinking about my own family holiday experiences: My Grandma is hilarious, and I love her.

New Year's EVE SLC

I'm sure the organizers of the all-new, all-bigger EVE SLC would have preferred weather for their innagural year that was a bit less -- what's the word I'm looking for? -- crappy.

Bicycle DUI still rare in Utah

After writing this week about a man who received a DUI while bicycling in Utah, a co-worker asked me for practical advice. He bikes nearly everywhere, including to and from bars.

Cleanflix

Its no grand secret that a number of local practices and cultural habits in Utah are viewed by the rest of the country as ridiculous or near bumpkin-backward. But of the more recent years, one that got us the most attention was a privately owned business by the name of CleanFlicks.

Fresh Prince of Eve?

Rumors are flying that Will "Fresh Prince" Smith may join old partner DJ Jazzy Jeff on Eve's Pierpont stage tonight. Sure, might as well throw in Kid N' Play and Kriss Kross while you're at it.

Eve: Day 1 (A Brief) Review

For those of us that braved the cold, Day 1 of Eve was well worth the frigidness.--- Things got off to a slow start, with barely a family in attendance for Future of the Ghost, who played furiously despite cold fingers.

Eve: Shreddin' Rails

Day 2 of competition is set to start today at 4, with two sessions: 4-6:00 p.m. and 7-9:00 p.m. It is worth weathering the storm.
