Chris Butters for Grand Marshal of Gay Pride Parade!

Sen. Chris Butters is wearing a rainbow tie?---
The headlinemade me spit my coffee all over the paper. "Butters an ally for gays?" This from the man who told a documentary maker in an interview that, "gay activists have no morals and pose probably the greatest threat to America."
Now he is not only endorsing the new anti-discrimination ordinance passed by Salt Lake City regarding housing and employment, he is hinting that he may sponsor legislation that would bring this type of anti-discrimination state wide.....BUT NOTHING ELSE!
Does anybody trust this man to do anything positive for the gay community? "Here little girl, step into my van and see the puppies". You know that when this comes up in the next legislative session that it will be treated just the way that alcohol legislation is treated. One step seemingly forward and two big steps backward. Now that I am wearing my Carnac headress. let me predict that he will offer some type of legislation but the caveats that will be included to put into state law that no other kind of rights like domestic partnerships, medical decisions, adoption, or even holding hands while crossing the "forbidden zone" of Main Street will be included.
What I also find amusing is that the LDS church has done his thinking for him because without their tacit approval of the Salt Lake City ordinance on housing and employment, Butters wouldn't even consider it. HEY CHRIS.....the Church said to jump off a cliff! I wonder how long it would be before numbnuts would start running toward the ledge?
This is very instructive to newcomers to Utah. Now you know who runs the state and how the puppets on Capitol hill operate.
