I'm not sure if I love Them Crooked Vultures because of the music or because of the members who compose this rock "supergroup." Typically, I'll purchase anything involving Dave Grohl and Josh Homme - John Paul Jones is just the icing on the cake. This trio's self-titled debut made its way to the illegal filesharing stew last week and, rather than throw a fit, Them Crooked Vultures simply posted the LP on YouTube to stream in its entirety. Hopefully enough music lovers still prefer to own a copy of the physical release. It's in stores today.---

Dead End Friends - Them Crooke...

Also out, Paul McCartney's Good Evening New York, a double-disc collection of the legend performing live versions of Beatles songs and material from the good ol' Wings days. A must-have for Fab Four fanatics? You decide.

Helter Skelter - Paul McCartne...

In local release news, The Platte debuted his new LP, Grus, last night at Slowtrain with a full band fleshing out the album's intimate material. It's a winner, folks. Raw, dark and attentive to the spaces between each meticulously produced sound.

Other albums worth checking out: Kid Sister's long-awaited, highly anticipated Ultraviolet; Rakim's The Seventh Seal.
