Have We Arrived or What?

.. Wow. The North Carolina-based comedy duo Rhett & Link came to Salt Lake City, and now we have our own cheesy America-is-living-hard-times commercial, complete with Mormon missionaries.
---
The spot has that Saturday Night Live fake commercial quality about it—ironic and hipsterish—but some of the "cool" is lost knowing these guys work for MicroBilt, a company that sells services to small businesses. And these "local" commercials are all part of MicroBilt's Grand Internet Strategy (yeah, we all have one. Even City Weekly proudly produces cheesy videos ... love those page views).
The press release describes the offering thusly: "The SLCC local commercial reprises tried and true elements of local commercials including a cheesy jingle and pretty young women -- training to cut hair -- not to be actresses. You know: the type usually featured standing in front of a lemon on a used car lot. Two new elements that make this local commercial so special: artificial heads and Mormon missionaries."
Yeah, that missionary thing has, like, never been done before.
