Drugs are good for you.......WHAT!---

I can hear the nutballs on Talk Radio now, raving how Barack Obama wants to get our children stoned so they will be easier to "indoctrinate" into his socialist, Marxist, communist, whatever agenda.  This will be on the heels of a new policy by the Feds to stop wasteing valuable resources chasing people who use medical marijuana and the shops that sell it in the 14 states that have legalized or decriminalized pot for those purposes.

We can all hope this will be the beginning of the end of the "Reefer Madness" of the Bush Administration and eventually lead to the legalization of pot in much the same way that alcohol was made legal with the ending of prohibition.  I don't say this with any personal dog in this fight other than it only makes sense.  The use of marijuana by people who suffer from the ravages of chemotherapy, cancer, glaucoma and other ailments is no different than the legal use of cocaine, morphine, oxycontin and a whole host of other pain relieving drugs used every day.

I've never understood what it is about pot that has had the government stand in the way of using it for medical purposes in the first place.  Is it because the drug lobby is so strong that they don't want something as simple as pot legal because they can't make money on something anybody can grow themselves?  I don't know, but it does beg the question.

California Gov. Arnold has even mentioned legalizing it for taxing purposes.  Considering it is the biggest cash crop in California why not?  Let the yelling, screaming, gnashing of teeth begin.  Considering that Utah leads the nation in perscription antidepression medication use, I would think that our local leaders would applaud this move by the Feds.  Yea, right!

This will make great theater for sure.
