Now that the Twins/Tigers game is over, I can honestly say... ---
That was the best baseball game I have seen in years. Everything that's great about baseball, happened in that game. Great plays, huge mistakes, incredible inning ending double plays and some gutsy play by both the Twins and the Tigers. Not to mention fans, players and managers with palpable gripping stress rolling down their faces.
The Twins got the best of Detroit however, capping one of the most improbable late season runs in recent history. After being 8 games out in September, the Twins went 17-4, while the Tigers had an 11-11 meltdown.
Minnesota iced the cake in the 12th inning with a 6-5 win, Carlos Gomez scoring the winning run on a shot grounder to right field... then pandemonium.
