Hey there, Salt Lake City movie lovers. Wanna be the first kids to the coolest movie party on the block? ---

This month, City Weekly is launching a brand-new club for Utah movie lovers: Flick Clique. We'll be hosting special screenings, and offering special promotions at regular theatrical screenings, all with the goal of bringing local film enthusiasts together for fun, enlightening conversation and a chance to bring the ideas we encounter there in the dark out into the light of day.

As our first event, we're hosting a post-film discussion at tomorrow night's (Oct. 2) 7 p.m. screening of the new documentary No Impact Man (pictured; see our review here) at the Tower Theatre. I'll be inviting questions and answers along with our special guest, Jane Bauer from Slow Food Utah. And as a way of walking the "No Impact" talk, attendees can get a free fountain soft drink with any concessions purchase if they bring in a re-useable container. Find the coupon in this week's dead-tree City Weekly.

More events are on the way; you can update your CityWeekly.net online registration now to join up. We want you.
