No time like the present to make that final call on tonight's game plan. For many, the obvious choice is David Cross.--- The brilliant, ruthless comedian/actor/producer and now author will debut his new book, "I Drink for a Reason," at the King's English from 4-6 p.m. before headlining In the Venue at 7 p.m. You might know him best from Arrested Development or Mr. Show, but I'll always love him for Shut Up, You Fucking Baby, a double-disc slice of side-splitting fun.
Over at the E Center, the mighty Pearl Jam will perform in support of their new Backspacer which, despite the mostly awful Target commercial in which the first single appears, is another work of solid rock from one of the grunge era's last-standing giants. Ben Harper opens.
