Salt Lake City dance enthusiasts have spoken -- and "Flavor of the Day" is going to be more than just the flavor of a weekend.

Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company's Sept. 24-26 season-opening production Equilibrium featured four new dances by Utah choreographers, short works on a theme of social change. Audience members a chance to vote on their favorite. Kay Andersen, Associate Professor of Dance at Southern Utah University, won for his piece "Flavor of the Day," over fellow choreographers Eric Handman, Erik Stern and Doris Trujillo. The win earns Andersen a $1,000 cash prize and the inclusion of "Flavor of the Day" in the company's touring repertory.
