TV Tonight: FlashForward

It's the one of the most-promising new shows of the season, and it's stuck on one of the most over-crowded TV nights of the week--when did Thursday become the new Sunday? Make that extra, extra effort to check out FlashForward on ABC tonight--but know that it's going to repeat tomorrow night at 7. ---
The FlashForward gist: Every person on Earth blacks out for 2:17 minutes and sees a glimpse of their future--specifically, April 29, 2010. Well, the ones who don’t die due to plane crashes, train wrecks, missing the results of Dancing With the Stars, etc. Now, do they accept their fate or work toward changing it? And does ABC have its new Lost after a dozen previous failed attempts? FlashForward’s star-power (including Joseph Fiennes, John Cho and Jack Davenport, as well as Losties Dominic Monaghan and Sonya Walger) and epic concept say “Hit!”; heavy timeslot competition from Bones (Fox) and Survivor (CBS) says “Maybe not.”
