U.K. outfit Arctic Monkeys made waves as the buzz band of 2005 with their electric pop debut Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not, a solid album but not one that established them as more than a flash-in-the-pan. Their third LP, however, reveals a group of lads who can truly rock like men. While certainly not as gritty or heavy as the sounds Humbug’s producer Josh Homme creates with his band Queens of the Stone Age, the new record is sultry, smart and packs serious staying power. In the Venue, 579 W. 200 South, 7 p.m. All-ages.
