The boys of summer… literally ---

The Little League Word Series championship featured Chinese TaiPei (Taiwan) facing Chula Vista, California.

Both teams had lost to the two teams they beat in the semi-finals, Mexico and Texas, who played in the consolation game with Mexico beating Texas 5-4.

After a 3 run lead by the 17 time world series champion TaiPei, Chula Vista climbed back on top with clutch hitting by Andy Rios and outstanding pitching relief by Kiko Garcia, who entered in the third, tossed 3.2 innings without giving up a hit and striking out 6 batters.

This marks the first time a California team has beaten a TaiPei team in the championship. Chula Vista also set a record for most home runs in a Little League World Series.

Like I said last week, this is the best baseball you will see, so don’t miss it next year.
