Hey,
you, the person sitting at home planning what to do tonight. There's new music
out this weekend from local artists, and three big album release shows
happening. Which is nice since a good many planned album release shows have been taken off the bill last minute this month. --- First up tonight at Kilby
Court, rock group Steady Machete finally put out their freshman outing,
Riots. Back them up tonight will be the ever elusive Sister
Audio.
For
those of you not able to make it down to SLC, Mojo's up in Ogden is playing host
to The Champion Theory's release party for their metal-punk full-length,
Losing Is Your Only Option. Also performing with them will be We
Drop Like Bombs, The Jake Martin Band and Funk Shui.
Then
on Saturday, Kilby plays host again, but this time for singer/songwriter Emme Packer and her
double-album Earlier, Later. Playing with her will be a full backing band, as well as venue favorites Uzi
& Ari and Discourse. Catch her show before her quick trip to Spain next
week.
All
these shows kick off at 7PM for just $7. Go out, buy local music, and enjoy the shows
before the rain comes barreling in on Sunday.
