Happy (?!) Chainsaw Day

If you're a student of movie chronology, you may be aware that today marks the anniversary of a horrifying -- and only mostly fictitious -- tragedy. ---

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre -- both in its original 1974 and 2003 remake forms -- opens with solemn-voiced narration by John Larroquette describing the "true" events upon which it is based. And the date on which those events is alleged to have taken place? August 18, 1973. Be sure to celebrate by donning your favorite human-skin apparel.
