Hello
punk rock enthusiasts! Made my way over to Urban Lounge last night to
catch the SLUG Localized show. Not just your average punk show, a good
punk show, little bits of the ska thrown in, dancing and mild
moshing. Gotta throw some respect to a band willing to put an
accordion into the mix. Here's a shot of Dubbed!
--- Speaking
of SLUG, Craft Lake City was fun as hell. Good numbers of
people showing up in droves to browse and buy a many different
artworks and crafts, plus the performing acts. Very awesome showing,
good amount of strange mixed in with jewelry and collages. I'd say more, but this was more of an event you had to go experience.
On
music I myself caught the majority of Cub Country as a full ensemble,
and the short set from the reunited Subrosa. Catch some of their
shows before they head out on a western US tour!
Then
Sunday the zombies were in full force. You know what rocks about a
walk? The fact that there are no closed streets and no police
presence. Gotta love the looks of drivers not knowing what the hell
is going on. Special props to the Living Resistance on the corner of
7th East and 5th South, arming themselves to
the tooth with squirt guns and water balloons to fend off the
tide.
Coming
up over the next few weeks from me will be some band interviews, a
chat with Ori Hoffer, Ultra Clothing, as well as a visit to Stroll
and a few other things. Summer is still up in the air for things I'm
doing too, so we'll see what happens.
