NFL Commish Roger Goodell says Donte is “done” for the year, without pay. Donte Stallworth was suspended after killing 59-year old Mario Reyes while driving drunk. Had Reyes not been running across the street outside the crosswalk, Stallworth would probably still be in jail. Not being the case he spent just under a month behind bars. Now his boss, effectively fired him for a year.
Goodell wrote in a letter to Stallworth that was released today by the league… “There is no question that your actions had tragic consequences to an innocent man and his family. In that respect, you are clearly guilty of conduct detrimental to the integrity of and public confidence of the NFL.”
