Spinal Tap has dominated mock-and-roll for a generation. But Lego doesn't get the joke. ---
According to The New York Times, the building-block maker was not amused by the prospect of its product appearing in a Spinal Tap concert DVD. It seems a Tap fan created a YouTube video of a Lego-figure band performing the Tap classic "Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight," and Spinal Tap was entertained enough that the video was shown at live performances. But when the fake band attempted to get clearance to use the video in the DVD, Lego balked. "Wasn't appropriate for our target audience of kids 6-to-12," went the toymaker's official statement.
C'mon Hasbro: Time to give the thumbs-up to a Potato-Head Spinal Tap performance of "Sex Farm."
