The Revolt is seeing a lot of folks coming out in force to try and push along national health reform. The people are sick of shitty healthcare and for many, the only prescription is a little civically nutritious activism. Why not take a double dose with these local events.

On Wednesday July 8, the Crossroads Urban Center will be hosting a barbecue to show support for expanding Medicaid to all Americans below the poverty line and making healthcare more affordable for millions. The event will be from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the northeast corner of Liberty Park, 900 S. 500 East, and is free and open to all.

On Thursday July 9, some local Move.on peeps will be holding a rally at the district office of Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, in support of the public healthcare option. Local residents will tell their healthcare horror stories and a petition supporting the Obama plan will be passed around. The rally will kick off at 2 p.m at the downtown Federal Building, 125 S. State Street, Salt Lake City
