Fly Swatter-in-Chief

You knew the very second that President Obama swatted the fly that was pestering him during an interview that all hell would break loose. Obama was conducting a one on one interview with John Harwood of CNBC when this pesky fly just wouldn't stop flying around Obama's head.  I doubt there is anyone on earth, except for people in Iran, who haven't seen the President KILL that fly.

PETA jumped on the murder with a vengence beseaching the Killer-in-Chief to show more compassion for all creatures great and small and are sending him a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher.  This is some kind of device that allows you to catch a house fly without harm so you can release it out doors so it can ruin somebody elses backyard BBQ.

PETA's spokesperson Bruce Friedrich said that overall his organization is pleased with the Presidents voting record while he was in the Senate on animal rights.  However the calculated act of killing that fly as it landed on his arm, in full view of TV cameras rolling, indicates that he is not perfect.  White House Deputy press secretary said that they have no comment on the matter.

This means that the White House public relations staff are in full defensive mode as they try and mitigate the damage that this incident might have on President Obama at a time when his poll numbers seem to be in decline.  The fact that the President even gloated to Harward following the successful kill, "that was pretty impressive, wasn't it?  I got the sucker."

Showing clearly that he has no regard for life making the Pro Life crowd jump into action.  I can see them making signs to carry in front of the White House to protest the President as being anti-life and pro-abortion. This will surely become an issue when the confirmation hearings on Judge Sotomayor start.

The only good thing I can see coming out of this whole mess is it might shut Sara Palin up as she has done worse shooting wolves out of helicopters and killing Moose for stew.
