Don't Touch My Cup

There are many traditions associated with the NHL Stanley Cup. One of the oldest, is that the winning team drink champagne from the top bowl after their victory.

The Cup is also traditionally presented on the ice to the captain of the winning team after the series-winning game; each member of the victorious club carries the trophy around the rink.

Although many players have unofficially spent a day in personal possession of the Cup, in 1995 a tradition started wherein each member of the winning team is allowed to keep the Cup for a day… some have used it to baptize their children… some let their dogs eat out of the Cup.

Classy. Too bad the Pet Blog went bye bye.

Tonight is Game 7 of the NHL Hockey Finals, and either the Detroit so and so’s or the Pittsburgh somebodys will win the Stanley Cup, and then do God only knows what with it.

All I can think of now is drunken Slavic dudes doing really disgusting things with or in a giant cup.

Hockey rules.

Tonight @ 6pm on CBC (HD),  NBC (HD), RDS (HD) or WTF (HD)
