Local activists plan to protest what they call a “campaign of lies” on the part of the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce regarding the Employee Free Choice Act. Their beef is that the U.S. Chamber is falsely insinuating that the employee free choice act would prohibit secret ballots in the creation of Unions.
“It’s one thing to have a difference of opinion about how people should form a union, but lying about what the Employee Free Choice Act will do is another,” says Kyle Wulle, Chairman of Utah Jobs with Justice and member of United Steelworkers, Local 12-593, from a recent press release. “We expect more from business leaders, and we are here to give local business leaders a chance to show leadership on the issue.”
Activists will bring the outrage to the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce, 175 E. 400 South, Salt Lake City, tomorrow June 3, from 4-5 p.m.
