If the Egyptian Theatre Company was looking for someone who knows how to entertain the people of Park City, it's hard to imagine they could have done any better than Randy Barton.

A 30-plus-year fixture in Summit County, Barton was named ETC's Theatre Manager today, adding to his arm-long resume of Park City arts ventures. He hosts an afternoon radio show on KPCW; he founded the non-profit Mountain Town Stages music series; he's hosted programming on Park City Television; he even performed on the ETC stage back in the day when it was home to "The Park City Players." Barton will now be handling ETC duties, according to a press release, "encompassing programming, operations and facilities responsibilities." A lot tackle in tough times, but if Barton knows his audience as well as it seems, he could be up to the job.
