Former X96 weekend DJ and host of Live & Local (and City Weekly contributor) Portia Early has already landed a new gig: Mondays 3-6 pm on UtahFM.org, the Internet radio station launched a year ago as a haven for ex-KRCL volunteers.

According to Early, her new show will feature a mix of unsigned bands local and national--but not Nirvana on the nines. Early's first show is Monday, May 11, and she plans on a "chaotic party" with no FCC oversight (it's the Internet, you know); local bands, stop by and give her your CD (UtahFM studio: 400 West 200 South).

As for her former Live & Local show, it's maybe up for sale: Allegedly, X96 wants $2,500 a month to keep the show on the air, or that two-hour Sunday-night block will go by the wayside as live weekend DJs recently did. Investors, act now!
