Reports about dangers lurking online often sound hyperbolic, especially when issued from the mouths of local TV anchors who confuse Twit for Tweet. But of course as with any networking opportunity on or offline, it never hurts to emphasize the need for skepticism and common sense. LP33.tv recently released an album in conjunction with Craiglist following the tragic death of Katherine Olson, a 24 year-old murdered after responding to a babysitting ad on the popular website. The free compilation, featuring Bigelf, Rocco de Luca and others, is available for download here. And if you happen to be in Minnesota on May 3, plan on attending a concert in her honor with proceeds benefiting a memorial scholarship fund.
