I know the newspaper business is in a downward spiral that sees no bottom, but that is no reason for those gainfully employed at one of the still-standing dailies to write pure crap that seems designed to butt kiss the editor.

This morning's, April 28, 2009, edition of the Deseret News column by Doug Robinson was the most ridicules pile of garbage to pose as journalism I have ever read. With nothing else going on in the world, Doug chose today to defend Miss California on her appearance at the Miss USA skin show where she tried to answer a question related to states deciding to allow gay marriage. The question came from one of the judges who is gay, so it was no surprise to anyone. The answer Miss California gave made no sense whatsoever and after playing the scene over and over from You Tube and reading the quote in Robinson's column several times, I was stunned. If Doug is so afraid of losing his job, why doesn't he just start writing passages from the Book of Mormon and be done with it?

Miss California's answer brought back memories of Miss Teen North Carolina and that classic mental meltdown of gibberish.

Doug, I like your column but if this is the road you have to take to keep the gig, I think it's time to go back to being a cheerleader for the Jazz and pretend that they got screwed by the refs and just don't suck as everyone could see.
