Last night something happened at the “Energy Confusion Arena.”
Instead of the same old Jazz team that fights hard for a little while, then gives in to their turnover addiction, something else happened.
They won.
They beat the Lakers without Deron Williams having a great game.
Since I have no logical explanation for it, the only one I can come up with is this. Somehow… Carlos Boozer turned into Karl Malone, even if just for 35 minutes. Pushing, fighting, bullying guys both bigger and smaller, Boozer wound up breaking a Jazz record for rebounds in a playoff game on his way to 23 points and 22 rebounds. Not to mention throwing down the critical basket that allowed D Will to finish the job. And I mean throw down with authority, and then barked at the two would be defenders… I could have sworn it was Karl Malone yelling “get the hell off me.”
Will wonders never cease?
Probably.
