Utahn Scott Carrier's dramatic tales will be featured in an unusual hour-long segment on NPR's [image-1] This American Life this Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m. The nationally aired “The Friendly Man” segment can be heard locally on KUER 90.1 FM.

The segment begins with the story of how Carrier first got on the radio and progresses to a series of seemingly disconnected pieces – from schizophrenics in Salt Lake City, to soap-opera amnesia – all of which eventually do connect and end up telling one, long story.

The Peabody Award-winning Carrier is a professor at Utah Valley University. In addition to contributing to various NPR programs, his reporting has been featured in Esquire, Rolling Stone, GQ and Harper’s.

So pour yourself something refreshing, sit down, tune in and let Ira Glass and our Mr. Carrier tell us about not-so-everyday life in America.
