There's something delightfully meta about a bunch of performers auditioning in hopes of getting a role in a play about a bunch of performers auditioning.

Pioneer Theatre Company's 2009-2010 season will open in September with A Chorus Line, but it's already time for tryouts. Both Actors Equity Association members and non-members can participate in the dance calls on Friday, May 8 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Non-AEA auditioners must sign up in person on the callboard in Room 325 at the Pioneer Memorial Theatre after the sheet is posted on Friday, May 1; AEA members may call Elizabeth Williamson at 801-585-5855 to sign up. Only 24 slots are available for each session, and those who are called back on Saturday, May 9 will be asked to sing, read from the script and dance again. Ah, what they did for love ...
