E-Recycling has come, or is coming…this Wednesday, and just in time for Earth Day! What is e-recycling you ask? Why it’s the careful handling and disposal of all your once-modern amenities, from TVs to video-game consoles to even cell phones. Why should you e-recycle you ask? Because ipods make mother earth cry-- If they’re not probably disposed of that is. Thanks to the U’s Office of Sustainability, the Recycling Coalition of Utah and the Salt Lake City Division of Sustainability and the Environment, all students and Salt Lake residents can drop off for free their e-waste items.

E-waste is the fastest growing stream of waste in the country with an estimated 3 billion units to be scrapped by 2010. So let’s face it folks you can’t just throw this shit away because electronic waste is chock full of harmful toxins that will bleed right into the ground water. So don’t miss this opportunity clean up your e-waste...OK? You'll probably feel so good about it you might just reward yourself and go buy all new modern gadgetry and technology. Go ahead, you've earned it.

University of Utah, 1795 E. South Campus Drive, Wednesday April 22, 7:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m., contact Jen Colby at 801.585.9352, or check out the event website here.
