It only took 14 months, but the best film from the 2008 Sundance Film Festival is finally going to see the light of day.
Anvil! The Story of Anvil chronicles the attempts by the two founding members of the cult-beloved metal band Anvil to keep on rocking even as they become 50-something suburbanites. It's a hilariously poignant documentary, and it has found what seems in retrospect to be an obvious home: VH1. The network that was launched on musical nostalgia will be supporting a limited theatrical release beginning next month (handled through specialty distributor Abramorama), followed by a planned VH1 television premiere and DVD release this summer. Watch for it, and let the tearjerking headbanging commence.
