Lots of critics and viewers went nuts for last year's Swedish vampire thriller Let the Right One In; some even called it the best vampire movie ever. Its undead, perpetually pre-adolescent anti-heroine Eli was certainly an interesting vampire. But was she the best?
Here's where you get to decide. In 250 words or less, let us know your choice for the best movie vampire -- not the best "vampire movie" -- ever, and why. Send to scottr@cityweekly.net with the subject line "Best Vampire" no later than 5 p.m. Monday, March 9, and this intrepid movie critic will judge the entries for style and persuasiveness of the argument. The winning mini-essay will earn the writer a copy of Let the Right One In on DVD on its release date, March 10. We'll announce here on the blog, and post the winning entry.
Let the blood flow.
