It's pilot season in Utah ... sort of.

Starting next month, Brewvies will be hosting a unique local "film festival" called "My Utah TV." Would-be show-runners are invited to launch their own monthly series with a 5-minute-or-less pilot episode that will be screened in the theater. Fifteen entries will be selected for screening, with the audience getting a chance to vote on those that will be "picked up" and those that will be cancelled. Then the next month, new series will compete against new episodes from the returning winners. It's Nielsen democracy in its purest form.

The first My Utah TV event will be held March 15 at Brewvies at 7 p.m., with subsequent installments planned for the second Sunday of every month. Get started on that great idea now, and visit the Website for submission details.
