[image-x] Guess it's time to give the Phelps family some of the publicity they crave: According to today's Westboro Baptist Church press release, the Phelpses have been banned in the U.K.! Yes, those intolerant Brits apparently don't want Westboro's message of Christlike bile, indignation and monomania on their island.

The Phelpses planned to stage one of their hootenannies outside a college production of The Laramie Project, a play about Matthew Shepard, a gay 21-year-old University of Wyoming student. (Spoiler alert: He dies.)

It is the Phelpses' belief that Shepard's torture and murder was in no way motivated by the fact that he was a gay kid in a podunk redneck town. A redneck cop in that town doesn't think so, either—apparently, there are lots of torture-murders in that neck of the woods for all kinds of non-gay reasons.

Be that as it may, I'm not sure why the Phelps are so obsessed with the issue; you'd think they'd be happy he was murdered for being a so-called "fag."

According to Phelps, now "God Hates England"—proving that, in Fred Phelps' twisted, tortured universe, there is literally nothing in creation that God doesn't hate. I'm wondering if maybe Phelps' god, who hates just about everything under the sun, suffers from some kind of self-loathing inferiority complex.
