First off here's the latest addition to the 337 Memorial Wall.
--- Next, let's get to it since I got some questions about it. Yeah, that's me in
In Utah This Week. Showing some local artists some love and making some discs float in air. Oh, and I did an
interview
for the "Scene In SLC" page. Got to harass the staff and chat up the
scene, also saw a sea of computer towers that I wanted to build like
legos into a fort and make a stand in their office. Deck myself out in
keyboards for armor, launching mouse grenades and catapulting
monitors. But I didn't have the time to pull that off, so I ate vegan
cake instead. So now you get to know something about me, sorta, and
kinda know what I look like from the chest up. Here's a picture of
what that desk looked like before I attacked it.
Also
made my way around downtown last night to photograph the Proposition 8
Protest March that went around the LDS Temple and offices. Quite a
sight to behold, our own cameras and footage didn't do the march
justice. And apparently the SLC march has made the news headlines for
the nation at large. Every slogan you can think of being chanted,
cars and Trax trains honking in support, Salt Lake police actually
blocking off the streets for it to all flow so smoothly. And of course
the highlight of seeing thousands standing at the office's main doors
in a rallying cry of support. The GLBT community definitely made their
voices heard for the nation to hear last night, and I'm quite sure the
protests are only getting started.
On
a downer note, it appears that The Paladium is going to be closed for
much longer than some suggested. I've learned never to close the book
on a venue until an official owner or high-up manager comes out and
says "we're done." But I've gotten no word from the venue as to what
they're doing, and with no shows booked and their own main website shut
down, I think we've seen the final days of the 6th North club. At
least for now. On a brighter note, I'll start posting dates for The
Cell Block with some other venue postings in the works.
The
calendar is mostly updated for the rest of November, which was dragging
due to server issues. This week I'll be chatting with Red Light
and their move, The Manhattan and it's reopening, and who knows what
else this week and next. As always, we'll see what happens.
