To
be an art photographer here in Utah is a challenge in itself. To do
that and run your own studio on top is another level all
together.---
Since early 2007, K. Jean Photography has been making a name for
itself doing everything from up close and personal portraits to vast
landscapes of our ever changing state.
For
those of you who happen to be in downtown Salt Lake City this weekend
(or need an excuse to be), there's a parade happening down here that
has absolutely nothing to do with pioneers.---
The first annual Salt Lake City Zombie Walk will be taking place this
Sunday at 10AM in the downtown area, slowly bringing the undead to
familiar spots and popular landmarks of our city, such as The Gateway
Mall and Temple Square. The walk gives people a chance to fulfill
their zombie fandom by walking in full costume as the "living
impaired", while planted spectators get attacked to either
become food or fellow zombies.
With
an ever growing hip-hop scene in Utah, local DJ’s, performers and
labels are all starting to make a name for themselves, better than
some in more established areas.---
Since 2004, TML Records out of Salt Lake City has been putting out
albums and bringing on board some of the top local talent in hip-hop,
rap and reggae. Influencing artists across the board,
showcasing some of the best in local music, and even making their
presence felt on urban beat stations. I got a chance to chat
with label owner and performer DJ HandomeHands about TML, the local
hip-hop scene, his thoughts on the industry, and whatever else came
to mind.DJ Handsome

Professional
wrestling isn’t just withheld to basic cable, you can find it right
here in Utah!---
Among the groups that have started up in recent years, ACW Wrestling
has been one of the few independent promotions that has managed to
stay alive and continued to bring live local wrestling to a local
venue near you. Currently in its fifth year the group is pressing
forward to make itself the best local promotion Utah has to offer,
which is good news since our state was widely ignored by the old
territory system and has yet to even host a pay-per-view event of
from major promotion.
Before
we jump into the news, just some quick thoughts off the top of my
head in both a positive and a negative light this week. ---
Trax expanded it's Free Fair Zone to include the Library stop, as
well as all the new ones to Front Runner, which is great news for us
downtown folk.
