your behavior does., Your beliefs don't make you a good person
I have made the very same comments as Mr. Coots on many occasions. I am currently fighting my own battle with my management regarding something as stupid as handicap parking.
In a one-on-one closed door meeting on two seperate occasions with two different managers, I was told by both of these people that I would not be doing the type of work I was hired to do because they thought the environment would be too stressful for my Multiple Sclerosis.
Nepotism??? Our organizational chart looks like a family tree and yes, you hire my kid and I will hire yours absolutely does happen! That situation is so bad that they are being promoted without the necessary experience and education, I know of one that has only been there since May 2010 and gone from a GS-9 to a GS-12 with NO COLLEGE DEGREE!
I know this to be true because this person saw me studying for an exam one day and asked if I was in school and when I replied "yes I am", her reply was "I should go back to school".
Me?? I have 2 degrees and I have been waiting two years for my GS-11. :(
The system is broken and so are the people who are abusing it.
