Sammy’s Bistro, owned by local chef Sam Harris, got its start as a booth at the Park Silly Sunday Market, where Sam served up Texas barbecue shrimp. And today, Sam continues to create food with his own distinct style and flair. To start your meal, try the addicting jalapeño poppers. Then move on to signature menu items that include the barbecue shrimp that started it all—jumbo prawns wrapped in applewoodsmoked bacon and grilled with jalapeños—tender chicken slow-roasted with poblano peppers and served with basmati rice, and mahi mahi tacos served with fresh mango salsa and tomatillo aioli. There’s also a good selection of local brews on tap.
