Saffron Valley has all the exotic flairs of Indian street food only minus the street. It’s not your typical Indian restaurant in that there are no esoteric paintings on the wall, no Bollywood movies blaring and no incense. There is, however, delicious fare that could be hand-held like typical street food, such as biryanis, curries, chaat (puri, samosas, pakoras, dabeli), kebabs, Indian wraps and flatbreads. All of the options are as flavorful as you’d expect from a restaurant whose owner, Lavanya Mahate, also owns a nationally distributed spice company, East India Pantry.
