This is the default breakfast joint for U of U students, faculty, staff, and nearby civilians. And the default dish is the Gawd Awful: a cholesterol-buster consisting of two eggs on fried hashed browns with chili and cheese on top. It’s located at the edge of the U. of U. campus but some have suggested that the wood-paneled Big Ed’s is closer to the edge of reality. Stick around until beer o’clock for a cold can of PBR and pretty good burgers, especially the chiliburger. There’s also an excellent French dip sandwich on the menu.
