Open for Sunday brunch & Saturday lunch in summer & fall with live music & an eclectic menu featuring chicken curry with wild rice pilaf & Vietnamese vermicelli salad. Alta Lodge is surrounded by mountains but the cuisine is eclectic and interesting, not your typical "lodge fare." The menu ranges from fettuccine with walnut-basil sauce and a Thai chicken and shrimp salad, to burgers, burritos, falafel, rack of lamb, pistachio-crusted mahi-mahi and prime rib of bison. At Alta Lodge, there's definitely something for every particular taste, which is perhaps why this classic location was one of William F. Buckley's favorites.
