Johanna's Kitchen was purchased in December 1971 and opened for business in February 1972 with 5 booths and 12 counter stools featuring homestyle comfort cooking. Johanna did all the cooking, husband, Carl, the baking, 2 daughters did serving and 3 sons helped in whatever capacity they could be talked into - mainly peeling potatoes for hash browns and fries.
Now, after 30 years and with the help of many fine employees, family, friends and satisfied customers, Johanna's Kitchen has become the home of "country fresh and homestyle food!" Don't miss the chicken-fried steak, Johanna's scones, hot turkey dinner, chicken fried chicken, grilled halibut, fajitas, liver and onions, lemon chicken and blackened hamburger steak. Johana's is a breakfast mecca in ski season.
