Mikel Trapp’s Fresco Italian Cafe is one of the most appealing dining spots in the city, in both warm weather (on the courtyard patio) and cold (inside the cozy restaurant). But Fresco’s lovely ambience would be nothing without its spectacular cuisine. Kick off a Fresco evening with Chef Logen Crew and company’s delicious pan-roasted calamari or the roasted-apple salad with pork-fried almonds before perhaps moving on to a pasta or risotto course, such as the delicious sunchoke agnolotti. If you’re lucky, perhaps Crew will be serving his sensational diver scallop and corn risotto, with freshly shaved black truffles. The extensive wine list holds many surprises, and kudos also to Fresco for offering wine flights to its customers— always an enjoyable option for wine enthusiasts.
