Vida Tequila at Frida Bistro

On Tuesday, Sept. 4, Vida Tequila teams up with Frida Bistro (545 W. 700 South, FridaBistro.com) for a special limited-seating tequila-tasting dinner at 6:30 p.m. The dinner will consist of six courses
paired with Vida tequila tastings:
blanco, reposado and anejo, as well as original tequila cocktails. The owners
of Vida Tequila will be on hand to
discuss Vida’s history and tasting notes. Vegetarian options are available, and the menu will be gluten-free. The cost is $90 per person, which includes food,

Wine + Cheese for Crossroads
Mark your calendars for this important charity event, on Sunday, Sept. 9. From 1 to 4 p.m., The Bayou (645 S. State) will host the 10th-annual Wine & Cheese Benefit Party, with proceeds to benefit the nonprofit Crossroads Urban Center, which works to help the underserved, including providing emergency food, diapers, infant formula and clothing to those in need. Wine, nonalcoholic beverages, gourmet cheeses, assorted breads and fresh fruit will be served, and local band Controlled Burn will perform live. Tickets are available for a minimum donation of $45.
“Crossroads works to address the root causes of poverty and injustice, not merely the symptoms. This means we must make an unwavering commitment to organizing the community and involving people in the decisions that affect their lives and impact their ability to be self-sufficient,” says Glenn Bailey, executive director of Crossroads Urban Center. “The Wine & Cheese Party is a great chance to have fun and support valuable community services for those in need.” In addition to The Bayou providing the venue, Tony Caputo’s Market and Deli and Harmons are contributing food for the event.
