Utah Poverty Partnership Barbecue
Monday, June 7
Come for free burgers and hot dogs courtesy of the folks helping to ease the burden of Utah’s poor. The barbecue, sponsored by the Crossroads Urban Center, not only will be a great time to meet and mingle with low-income advocates, but also will be open to local politicians, legislators and state office holders. Meet the ones who show up and high-five them for caring about the poor.

Department of Workforce Services Public Hearing
Tuesday, June 8
The Utah Department of Workforce Services is seeking comment on a proposed rule reducing benefits for families that include individuals who can’t or won’t provide immigration documents. Is this rule sticking up for the taxpayers, or is it just taking food out of the mouths of families in a vulnerable population? If you’ve got an opinion one way or the other, let your voice be heard.
Department of Workforce Services, 1385 S. State, June 8, 5-6 p.m. spixton@utah.gov
