This week, Salt Lake City’s Twilight Concert Series kicks off in Pioneer Park, ushering in a summer of great music at dirt-cheap prices. But all the free concert frivolity can also take a toll on the park, which is why volunteers are always needed to assist with the concerts and clean up afterward. This weekend, the Utah Transportation Commission meets to talk about UTA issues and an update on the controversial West Davis Corridor project, so come speak up or be forever railed and/or paved over. Friday, you can also hear climate activist Tim DeChristopher speak out about the injustices of the prison system.

Throughout summer
Be an activist for the magic of summer concerts in the park and help out the Salt Lake City Arts Council by volunteering for the Twilight Concert series. General volunteers are needed the day before, during and after concerts (Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays) to help set up and take down concerts and clean up afterward. Other volunteers can help with serving drinks and running the box office. Volunteers can receive drink vouchers, concert admissions, T-shirts and community karma points for helping out.
