TransAction Gender Conference

This year’s TransAction Gender Conference is full of workshops and panels, including a presentation by radical queer artist Elisha Lim and an “Ask a Cisgender Person” event. If you don’t know what cisgender means, this is your chance to find out while also learning about issues affecting transgendered Utahns and their partners and families.

Vegan Thanksgiving Day

The Ching Family Farm is looking for hungry vegans to gather for its Thanksgiving Day feast and fundraiser to support its animal rescue and adoption efforts. This year’s smorgasbord will feature Nick Cooney, author and founder of the Humane League. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children 12 and younger, with $1 off with a donated blanket for the farm’s pigs.

Invisible Children Tour

The Invisible Children group has been advocating for years on behalf of child soldiers from war-torn Uganda. While the horrors of war may be a world away for most, the organization brings it closer to home through former child soldiers who speak about their experiences. Learn more about their struggle for survival and become aware of the still-devastating problem of child soldiers.
