Kira is a 4 year old Boxer from Oslo Norway. She moved to Salt Lake City to be with her mom about two years ago and has adapted very nicely. She’s a very active dog with energy to burn and is always ready to participate in any sporting event or outing with her mom. Sometimes when cross country skiing she is beside herself with excitement and starts to attack ski tips--while the skier is still skiing in them! Pretty entertaining as long as you can remain standing up!
But Kira’s not all about play. She is a working therapy dog and a Certified CGC (Canine Good Citizen). At the University of Utah’s Neuro and Burn units, she loves visiting patients and giving them lots of kisses or performing some of her many tricks to entertain. She is also a service dog and gets to ride on planes and trains and buses and go everywhere with her mom.
An odd little habit of Kira’s happens around mealtime. When she is particularly happy with her dinner she will hold up her right front paw while she is eating. Not sure why, but maybe it’s Kira’s way of giving a “thumbs up!”
She loves other dogs and people and she’s always ready for a good time. And it sounds like she gets plenty of that. Kira, you’re a lucky dog!
