Sheri Harington, of Ala Cart 2 Go on 200 South doesn’t have much use for the Gallivan Center across the street:



“The Gallivan Center over here, they say that’s to increase business. When Gallivan has the events, all the parking is gone for the businesses that pay year-round overhead. You got these freebee hunters that come and hog all the parking and don’t spend any money in the stores. They say it’s to revitalize downtown. But think about it. The vendors over there are usually from West Valley and Tooele so the money doesn’t stay in the downtown economy. … In the summer we actually close up early because there’s no parking. … Gallivan’s a waste of time and money.
