City Weekly asked barista Kristy Gonzalez at Cup of Joe what the Legislature’s New Year’s resolution should be:
Education and mental health. First, our teachers are way underpaid. And, second, [Cup of Joe is] down by the homeless shelter, and the problem we see is that there isn’t enough mental-health help for some of these guys out here, especially this time of year. Some of these guys are going through some real struggles trying to better themselves or even just to exist in society, but there just aren’t enough mental-health resources for them.
